The Catholic Church\’s Council for Marriage and the Family is to host a conference to showcase its work. ![\"\"](\"/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/bishops2.jpg\")
The conference, Marriage at the Heart of the Church, aims to explore the Church\’s teaching of marriage and the family.
The conference is also designed to stimulate collaboration between the Council for Marriage and the family and groups engaged in related ministries in the Church.
The theme of the conference, which will be held in September, will focus on ‘the richness of the Church’s teaching on marriage’.
It will include an examination of and discussions on the major contribution Church teaching can make ‘in meeting the profound challenges being faced today by married couples and families, both among Church members and in the wider society’.
The keynote speaker at the Conference is Stijn Van den Bossche from Belgium, a well known academic and internationally recognised expert on the theology of marriage who is General Secretary of the Inter-Diocesan Catechetical Commission within the Episcopal Conference of Belgium.
