Iona director David Quinn appeared on Matt Cooper’s The Last Word programme on Today FM. He and Michael Nugent of Atheist Ireland discussed the implications of removing Ireland’s blasphemy law in the wake of the Charlie Hebdo murders.

The questions of whether anti-hate-speech laws are the modern-day equivalent of blasphemy laws, and what constitutes “reasonable limits” on free speech, were also discussed,
