At a recent conference in Dublin on women and the Church which was co-hosted by Notre Dame-Newman Centre for Faith and Reason and The Iona Institute, Sr Sara Butler addressed the arguments around women’s ordination and explained why the Church ordains only men to the priesthood. Sister Butler, M.S.B.T., S.T.L., Ph.D., is professor emerita of dogmatic theology at the University of St. Mary of the Lake Mundelein, IL, and past-president of the Academy of Catholic Theology.
