The Spoilt Generation and what to do about it

Our next
speaker will be Dr Aric Sigman, author of ‘The Spoilt Generation: Why
restoring authority will make our children and society Arichappier’.

This will
be the topic of his talk and it will take place in the Alexander Hotel, Dublin 2
(just behind the Davenport hotel), at 8pm on Thursday, February 24.

If you are interested in attending, please email [email protected] or phone 01 6619 204. Admission is free.

Dr Sigman,
a father of four, will argue that parents have surrendered their authority and
the result is that “our children – right across society – are now spoilt in
ways that go far beyond materialism”.

He says
that by “removing boundaries and retreating from authority, many adults have
failed their children, robbing them of their basic supporting structures. “

He will
offer a clear and practical message about how parents, grandparents, teachers
and policy-makers can fix the problem and cultivate better behaved, happier
children.

Dr Sigman
is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine and Associate Fellow of the
British Psychological Society and regularly appears in the media.
